Make This Your Best Year Ever!!

So: how many of your New Year's Resolutions have you broken?  If you are like me, it's been ALL of them!!  However, don't get discouraged, because February is a better time to start them.  The holidays and their temptations are over, the decorations are packed up and the house is back to what is normal for you.  Now you can really focus and discipline yourself to accomplish all your dreams this year.

Or at least get the foundations laid by getting all your ducks in a row.

Do you ever notice how just around the holidays, everyone's filled with the holiday spirit? Everyone's super nice and go the extra mile to help you out? Or what about those people who eagerly start each year with a new resolution creating goals to lose weight, find a new job, go back to school, get a promotion or turn their side hustle into a full-fledged business?

They commit with everything they're got but once the holidays pass, everyone goes right back to being a scrooge, they abandon their goals and the attendance at the gym, that just a short time ago was at its peak, dwindles off. The resolutions that once took precedence now don't seem so important anymore. And so repeats the same pattern year after year.
Don't let this happen to you!
Many times before, I've drilled down on the importance of not waiting to pursue your goals. You know perfectly well life's not making any special concessions for you. Nor anyone else for that matter. But yet you're not grabbing the bull by the horns, taking advantage of all life has to offer nor committing to it like it's your last. When will you make the decision to make 2010 your year?
How You Can Make This Year Different Than the Rest
1. Let go of all the excuses and just do it!
An excuse is simply your fear in disguise. Your excuses give you comfort, security and the illusion of more time but they do absolutely nothing to help you reach your goals. Instead, they push you further away.
2. Fight through the "I don't feel like it" feeling.
I know you have times when you just can't seem to motivate yourself to do anything so, to help you fight through this feeling of "I don't feel like it," try rewarding yourself for getting the job done, try taking advantage of your "peak" hours or find a place where you can get into your "zone."
3. The same momentum you create for yourself at the beginning, see it through to the end.
Consistency is key. Let your resolution or goal be that important to you that it motivates you everyday to the end. Plug away at it like the steady drip of water wearing away at a rock.
4. Take small steps.
If the big picture looks daunting, break down your goals into smaller steps. You'll find it's much more manageable this way.
5. Commit, commit, commit.
The steps you take today towards your resolutions will directly impact what will happen tomorrow. Do nothing today. Have nothing tomorrow. It may not necessarily happen overnight but it will happen - if you're committed to it.
