Understanding Inspired Actions

Ok so you're decided what you want and placed your order with the Universe. Now you're supposed to take inspired action to get you closer to getting what you want.

What the heck does that mean? And how are you supposed to know if the action you're about to take is inspired or not? I mean - it's not like there's a big neon arrow in the sky pointing to what you're supposed to do!

Even if it doesn't shout from the mountain tops, the Universe does drop clues that lead you down the path toward taking the right inspired action. And when you learn to interpret those clues you'll be one step closer to getting exactly what you asked for.

Living With Passion: The Art of Selfish Living

One trick of abusers is to lead their victims to view even the most fundamentals of self-care as "being selfish".  It is a necessary element in an abusive relationship, which enables the abuser to "justify" abuses.  For example, many Christian victims of domestic violence have the Bible twisted around and used against them when they try to defend themselves: "aren't you supposed to put others first, etc".  Whatever your religious beliefs may be, however, it is important to differeniate between taking care of your health--emotional, mental, and physical--and indifference to others in general.

This is an important distinction that many abuse survivors don't really get, and this article does an excellent job in explaining the distinction.  There is a paradox in "constructive selfishness": by being gloriously true to you, you become truly unselfish.  You were created with a purpose, not for another person.--Debra
